Rebecca Hoover

Assistant Director, Educational Therapist

Rebecca is a Certified Educational Therapist and the Assistant Director of Steps to Success. She began her career as a research Oceanographer, and after receiving her PhD in Oceanography from the University of Hawaii, she taught at the University of Hawaii, Monterey Peninsula College and California State Monterey Bay. After years of volunteering and teaching, she realized that her real passion was in education and she left the research field to teach full time. Prior to joining the team at Steps to Success, she was a founding member of the high school faculty at Chartwell School and served as the Director of Mathematics and Sciences at MCP Middle and High School. Now in her sixth year with this organization, she is truly grateful for her wonderful clients and the privilege of working as an Educational Therapist. It is absolutely the best job in the world! When Rebecca is not teaching, she is laughing and playing with her spouse and two children, who love anything involving a wetsuit, hiking shoes, a climbing harness, or chocolate.
