Welcome Sarah Chen!

We are thrilled to announce that we have a new educational therapist that has just joined our team! Sarah provides services for children and their families in kindergarten through eighth grade. Sarah specializes in language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia and other literacy and writing challenges.  Using various strategies, Sarah creates an intervention plan designed specifically for each child’s unique needs.

What is Educational Therapy?

Educational therapy is a process that combines an understanding of how individuals learn, the ways in which emotions can impact learning, and knowledge of specialized teaching methods. Educational therapy investigates, defines, and addresses an individual’s pattern of learning strengths and weaknesses.

About Steps to Success Educational Therapy

Founded by Heather Sommerville, Educational Therapist, Steps to Success offers a broad range of services for families and children with learning and behavior challenges from kindergarten through college and beyond.  With a specialization in a variety of intervention strategies, special education, and multi-sensory approaches, STS designs interventions that are tailored to individual student needs. We implement comprehensive programs using a team-based approach. Steps to Success staff members work closely with families to improve student self-concept, motivation, and academic skill areas.
